Trust & verification

Every provider on Prouva carries a badge that tells you how much we know about them. It's deliberately honest — a badge only ever means exactly what we've checked.

Provider badges

Unclaimed

Unclaimed

Added by a customer so they could leave a review. The provider hasn't engaged with Prouva yet. The reviews are still from signed-in customers — but the provider hasn't confirmed their details or had a chance to respond.

Verified

Verified business — our highest tier

The strongest level of trust on Prouva. The owner has claimed the listing and we've confirmed their identity and, where applicable, their business registration. Verified means we confirmed those specific details; it is not a guarantee of the quality or outcome of any job. Always use your own judgement.

Depending on the business, a Verified profile shows one of:

  • Verified · Identity — we confirmed the owner's identity from their NIC or passport. Typical for sole traders who aren't formally registered.
  • Verified · Identity & registration — we also confirmed the business is on the MNS company register and that the owner matches it.

🔒 We use an ID only to confirm identity during verification, then delete it. We never store or share identity documents — we keep only the fact that the check was done.

Verified reviews

Separately from the business badge above, an individual review can be verified. When a reviewer attaches a quote, invoice, contract or receipt for the job, our team checks it before the review is published and marks it as a Verified job.

Verified reviews count for far more in a provider's rating than unverified ones — so a score reflects real, proven jobs rather than volume. We delete the document once the review has been checked.

How we keep reviews honest

Every reviewer signs in with a verified account (Google or email).

One review per account, per provider — editable, never duplicated.

Reviews are captured through a short, factual survey and re-worded around the facts — our drafting tool removes emotive, abusive or unsupported content before the reviewer approves it. Reviews that raise a serious concern are checked by our team before they go live, and anyone can report a review at any time.

Reviewers can attach a quote, invoice or contract to earn a Verified badge; verified reviews are checked by us and weigh far more.

Providers always have the right to reply.

A provider can't review themselves, and we watch for unusual patterns.
